River’s Journey

River’s Journey is my first truly conceptual series laying the foundation of moving beyond representation and into a more intuitive, idea‑driven way of painting. I am fascinated by the way a river gathers stories as it travels from its source to the sea, constantly shifting in color, rhythm, and depth. These encaustic and cold wax works capture that sense of movement and transformation through layered texture, softened shapes, and subtle shifts in color.

The river also becomes a metaphor for how we move through our own lives — sometimes steady, sometimes unpredictable, always finding a way forward. Creating this series opened the door to a new visual language for me, one rooted in memory, sensation, and internal experience rather than literal scenery. This evolution naturally led to Gentle Horizons, where I furthur explore landscape through shape, texture, and hidden imagery ultimately moving my work to full abstraction as seen in the Deep Memory Abstract Series.
