“Wild Waters Roar” captures the dynamic and untamed beauty of Great Falls in Virginia, a favorite place I visit for inspiration and regeneration. This encaustic painting is my tribute to the raw power and majestic presence of nature.
Using encaustic techniques—where heated beeswax is combined with colored pigments—I aimed to convey the movement and energy of the cascading waters. The vibrant palette of blues, greens, and whites highlights the turbulent flow of the river as it crashes over the rugged rocks, creating a sense of motion.
Through this artwork, I wanted to transport viewers to the heart of the falls, allowing them to feel the awe-inspiring force and the natural rhythm of the water. The textured application of wax adds depth and dimension, enhancing the visual impact and inviting a tactile connection with the scene.
