Gentle Horizons Landscape Series

Gentle Horizons is an ongoing series inspired by the landscapes where I live and the places that stay with me long after I’ve left them. These works begin with scenes that catch my attention — a curve of hillside, a stretch of open field— and then shift into something more personal. I’m fascinated with deconstructing the landscape into simplified shapes, textured surfaces, and hints of hidden imagery, creating a new visual language that reflects how these places feel rather than how they look.

At its core, this series is about memory and the way certain landscapes root themselves in our everyday lives. Each painting documents a place that holds meaning for me, whether because of its quiet beauty or the moment in time it represents. Gentle Horizons extends the conceptual foundation I began exploring in River’s Journey, moving further into abstraction while staying grounded in the idea of place. This evolution ultimately led me toward the deeper, more internal abstractions of Deep Memory Abstract Series.
