This painting captures the serene beauty of the Potomac River in the early morning light at River Bend Park in Great Falls, VA. I wanted to express not just a moment but the timeless experience of finding peace in nature. This work highlights the power of color, texture, and form in evoking the spirit of a place and the emotions it inspires. By applying multiple layers of translucent beeswax paint, I was able to capture the texture of the rocky shore and the luminence in the scene.
