Liquid Tapestry depicts the Shenandoah River as it winds its way through the Shenandoah Valley—a scene that’s as peaceful as it is powerful. Using layers of wax and vibrant colors, I wanted to reflect the river’s energy and the lush beauty of the valley surrounding it. The blues and greens of the water contrast with the warm tones of the landscape, and the encaustic technique brings out the textures and depth that make the scene feel alive.
