Pathways Carved by Persistence began in those quiet spots where water slows and life gathers: mossy edges, darting shadows, and the gentle return of spring color. I spent time watching the stream move from fast to slow, seeing how light collects in the shallows and how small ecosystems thrive right at the water’s edge.
In the studio, I turned those impressions into this abstract encaustic piece. Layers of wax, pigment, and subtle texture reflect the movement of water and the gentle colors of early spring: pale greens, soft golds, and hints of blue that suggest a season awakening. Nothing here is meant to be literal. It’s about leaning in, noticing the small details, and letting the quiet have its effect.
