In response to the art show cancellations and gallery closing due to the COVID19 social distancing mandate in Virginia, I’ve created a virtual art exhibit available online showcasing my latest encaustic paintings. This virtual art exhibit for July 2020 is a collection of smaller works measuring 12″x12″ and under.
The beauty of encaustic is truly appreciated when viewed in person. It is difficult to see the texture and luminescence of the wax in a 2D digital platform, so I can send additional photographs, video, or zoom conferencing as an opportunity to view the piece “up close”. I also offer studio visits by appointment to view the artwork. My studio is located in Purcellville, Virginia.
I will be creating a new art exhibit that I email to my “STUDIO INSIDER” group at the beginning of each month BEFORE the paintings are published on my website. Loveliest of Trees

The cherry tree is the loveliest of trees to me not only for its opulent burst of white and pink but also for its symbolism of hope. It is the dear memories of me as a little girl walking hand in hand with my dad as we strolled along the Washington DC tidal basin, breathing in the hope of spring. It is Friday night in a southern beach town, as vacationers and locals gather at the “best spot in town” to view a magnificent sunset over the marsh and celebrate the end of the week. On a salty warm day in Maine, I step gingerly among the barnacled rocks, hoping to spy a small starfish peeking from beneath the seaweed. This collage piece depicts a warm afternoon on my favorite beach in Deer Isle, Maine. Look closely and you can see the base layer of a map. Loudoun County, Virginia, is known for its amazing beauty, especially during the fall foliage season.
