This painting was inspired by the rolling vineyards of Stone Tower, located in Loudoun County, VA. It started with a quiet moment looking out over the hills I’ve loved for years. I watched the light move across the fields in soft golds and greens, and tried to follow that feeling with layers of color and texture. The piece is about spaciousness, belonging, and how a landscape can steady the heart. I hope you’ll bring this view home as a daily reminder of the beauty in our own backyard.

This painting was inspired by a late-summer field glowing in the soft morning light. It started with the memory of warmth rising from the earth. I used layers of reds, golds, and greens to create a textured tapestry that feels both wild and gentle. The piece is about nourishment, renewal, and the quiet abundance found in nature’s everyday gifts. I hope you’ll welcome this warmth into your home as a reminder of the beauty that grows slowly and generously around us.

This piece came from long drives along back roads in my hometown of Loudoun County, VA, where the fields can change from green to amber in just a moment. I used bold, expressive colors to capture the warmth, movement, and open-sky energy of country life. The painting is about the joy of simple places and the comfort of a land that feels alive. I hope this painting brings a sense of ease and brightness into your space.

Field Companions was inspired by a familiar scene in Loudoun County, Virginia. I often feel a quiet reassurance when I watch farm animals sharing the fields near my home, and I wanted to capture that feeling. Using soft, layered encaustic, I tried to show the connection between the animals and the land. Their easy togetherness reflects the comfort we find in familiar places and company. I invite you to step into this scene and feel the same calm and sense of fellowship that make these rural moments so restorative.

This painting began with a sweet little moment at the Waterford Fair. I was wandering through the village when I noticed a line of sheep making their way across a pasture, each one trailing the next like they were playing a quiet game. It was so simple and so endearing that I stopped right there to take it in. The trees were just starting to turn, and the whole scene felt like a page from a storybook.

Follow the Leader is my way of holding onto that feeling. It’s playful and peaceful, full of the easy charm that makes Loudoun County feel like home.
